Dromiskin Tidy Towns were delighted to be nominated to represent Louth in the annual Pride of Place competition. Three representatives from Dromiskin attended the 2025 awards ceremony in the Strand Hotel, Limerick, on Friday 7 November in an event hosted by Limerick County Council. Master of ceremonies was media personality Dermot Whelan with Limerick Mayor, John Moran, and Pride of a place founder, Tom Dowling, among those in attendance.
Also nominated from Louth was the Boyne Camino group and both nominees were
accompanied by members of Louth County Council - Chief Executive, David Conway, Joanna
Kelly head of services and Finbar Gethins Senior Executive Officer. Sean Kelly, Chairperson
Dundalk Municipal District also attended. Communities from all over the 32 counties were present at an impressive prize giving ceremony. Dromiskin was thrilled to be runner-up in the 1000-2000 population category, pipped by Piltown, Co Kilkenny. The Boyne Camino were also runner-up in the tourism category making it a great night’s work for the Wee county.
Many thanks to all the local groups and organisations who worked together to represent our
community on the national stage. Our appreciation too goes to Louth County Council who
provided assistance throughout the project.
