Celebrating National Tree Week in Dromiskin

To celebrate National Tree week Dromiskin Tidy Towns planted 21 lime trees around the green at the centre of the village. This expensive project was made possible by a grant from Louth County Council supplemented by generous sponsorship from local businesses and individuals. These include Ardee Credit Union, Charles McCann Charitable Foundation, PEMA Ltd., Dromiskin Pharmacy, Mc Geough’s Funeral Directors, Kevin Halpenny and family and LouthCounty Council. Each tree has a sponsorship plaque acknowledging the support.

Many thanks to landscape architect, Kevin Halpenny, for his advice in this project. Lime trees

are a native species and, as well as being pleasing to the eye, they are pollinator hubs, provide nesting and shelter for birds and are resistant to urban pollution.
