Writer: Dromiskin Tidy TownsDromiskin Tidy Towns

Dromiskin Tidy Towns was delighted to welcome visitors from neighbouring county Monaghan on the morning of Saturday 12 October 2024. Various Tidy Towns groups from Castleblaney, Ardaghey, Ballybay, Kileeva, Newbliss and  Monaghan Town were represented as well as representatives from Residents Associations from Blackhill, Lakeview, Beechgrove, Kilkygoan and Mullaghmatt.

After light refreshments in the school hall, our guests were provided with information on some of the projects carried out in Dromiskin over the past number of years. Subsequently they were taken on a guided tour that included visits to GInnety’s Pond Nature Park, the Heritage Park, AOH hall and the village cemetery. Despite some inclement weather this was a wonderful opportunity to showcase Dromiskin and to to have an insight into various Tidy Town activities being carried out in different towns and villages throughout Monaghan.

Our visitors were also calling to Blackrock and finished their odyssey in County Louth with a well deserved pitstop in Strandfield.
