The recent installation of our phone box certainly provides a nod to times past when the village centre phone box was a key element of the streetscape and social fabric of the village. This new replica phone box, sponsored by Councillor Liam Reilly, serves a different but equally important purpose in that it is the Information Point for locals and visitors to the village. A variety of leaflets including our Heritage Trail Leaflet, Get Dromiskin Buzzing Leaflet and proposed Sculpture Trail leaflet will be available as well as leaflets promoting the amenities of neighbouring communities.

The transformation of Ginnety’s Pond into a Nature Park has only been possible because of the generosity of the Hand Family who donated the site, Louth County Council who facilitated our funding application to the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme, Kevin Halpenny for designing and managing the project and our volunteers for the many hours of work in developing the project. A new entrance has been created with statement entrance sign, paths constructed. 32 trees were planted in March 2023, one for each year Dromiskin has entered the National Tidy Towns Competition. We’re excited to plan for further development of the site as funding opportunities present themselves and we hope that everybody will enjoy visits to the Nature Park leaving only footprints and respecting the nature that abounds in the site.
